Piereangello Cruz, MSW, LCSW, LCAS (he/him)

Piereangello Cruz (Piere for short!) (he/him/his) is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (C016625) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (27439).  He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Piere approaches therapy with the idea that each client deserves a comfortable, laid-back, and non-judgmental space that allows them to be themselves, however they are that day. Piere believes therapy works best when clients are allowed to simply be human. He works to develop a trusting and compassionate therapeutic rapport, so each client feels completely safe. He wants to work with clients and collaborate on ways to best support whatever goals the client may have. Piere’s goal is to make sure you feel heard, seen, validated, and to ensure that you & your time are valued and appreciated.

Piere works from a strengths-based perspective and incorporates pieces of DBT (for dialectical thought & behavior), CBT (for connecting thoughts and actions and challenging them), MI (for meeting you where you are at and rolling with you), SFBT (for solution focused therapy), and ACT (for understanding how to separate thoughts from self & discern core values). My approach is fluid depending on you!

Piere has experience working with adults with autism, veterans, refugees, immigrants, first-generation students, and individuals dealing with substance use and other mental health diagnoses. Piere enjoys supporting teen and adult clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, life trauma, and stress & issues related to self-esteem, relationships, setting boundaries, life transitions, substance use, and racial identity.

Piere loves to work with people of all cultural, spiritual, racial, and economic backgrounds. Piere is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with teens (+16) & adults.

In his free time, Piere enjoys basketball, movies, and so much reality television.
