Welcome to Greenwood Psychotherapy & Consulting
Caroline Van Vooren, MSW, LCSW (she/her)
Caroline is scheduling clients in person in Raleigh and virtually via telehealth.
Caroline (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (P019012) and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Greenwood Psychotherapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her Master of Social Work at North Carolina State University (but go heels!).
Caroline believes a healthy foundation for therapy begins with establishing a strong client-therapist relationship rooted in empathy and compassion. From there, the work can begin with a collaborative effort to make a change. She emphasizes the importance of a safe environment that fosters vulnerability, understanding, empowerment, and growth for the client.
Caroline's therapeutic approach is person-centered with a systems focus, understanding that no person exists in a void; instead, we are impacted by and impact the systems we are a part of. She utilizes various evidence-based treatment models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness. She has experience with a wide range of psychological and relational issues, including anxiety, depression, OCD, family conflict and dynamics, life transitions, social and relational well-being, and racial/ethnic identity. Caroline is passionate about working with adult women and men ages 18-55, specifically, indigenous people and other marginalized communities.
Caroline enjoys cooking, going for walks, playing with her cat (Gray) and dog (Rush), and reading mystery novels in her free time. She looks forward to collaborating with you!
